Precious Sithole on becoming a traditional healer

Precious Sithole started to work for Heidel Eggs 3 years ago as a general worker in the packaging department. With hard work she was promoted to Telesales within 5 months.

While very happy at Heidel Eggs she has always felt something is missing in her life. In her culture when you have these feelings, you normally go to the traditional healer (Sangoma) so that he/she can search for what is bothering you. Precious was told that she has a calling to also become and traditional healer, which made her family proud as there are a long line of traditional healers in her family.

Training like this takes 3 – 6 months where she goes for training from 3 am in the mornings, then goes to work at Heidel Eggs and then continues in the afternoon. They often train over weekends also where they go into the forest to learn what medicinal properties each plant has. During this training period she is only allowed to wear traditional clothes, she  cannot consume alcohol, wear normal jewelery or even sleep at her house.

This is very difficult training to go through with a lot of sacrifices. We at Heidel Eggs offer our encouragement and support to Precious in this life journey to become a traditional healer.

  1. 2 hard boiled eggs, sliced evenly
  2. 1 slice brown toast, buttered
  3. 15 ml (1 T) mild prepared mustard
  4. 5 ml (1 t ) seed mustard
  5. 30 ml sour cream
  6. salt and pepper, to taste
  1. Place the sliced egg on the toast.
  2. Mix the mustards and sour cream together.
  3. Season the eggs with salt and pepper.
  4. Spoon the creamy mustard sauce over and serve.
